Last month we heard that Amazon was offering a free 30 day trial on their Kindle Fire HDX tablets, and now the company is trying a new tactic in an attempt to sell more units of their tablets.
Amazon are offering their Kindle Fire HDX tablets on an installment plan, letting its customers pay over four installments, and it is not charging any interest on the installments.
Both the Kindle Fire HDX 7 inch version, and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 inch version are available this way, and you will have to pay 25 percent of the purchase price up front, plus shipping and taxes.
You will then have to pay the remaining balance over three further payments, the 7 inch model retails for $229 and the 8.9 inch model retails for $379.
There is something to be aware of though, as All Things D have pointed out, if you do not pay the rest of the money in the installments, Amazon will basically block your device, have a look at the small print below.
“Our remedies will include the right to deregister your Kindle Fire HDX device, which will block your ability to access Amazon content from your Kindle Fire HDX device.”
You can find out more details about this new offer from Amazon over at their website, it appears to be only available in the US.
