Amazon is expected to start trailing a new delivery locker service this week that will allow Amazon customers to collect their purchases from lockers within 7-Eleven stores, rather than have the items delivered to their home or business address.
Amazon has not confirmed the trials as yet but the cabinets (pictured below) were tracked down by Geekwire to the 1522 East Madison Street 7-Eleven in Seattle, and currently don’t have any Amazon logos on them.
The cabinet consists of a number of different sized lockers which can be accessed by Amazon customers after they correctly enter a code supplied by Amazon when they place their order, in the terminal in the centre of the cabinet.
If the trials are successful and Amazon rolls out the Delivery Locker system worldwide it will allow users to collect purchases from Amazon while away from home and will also provide a great way for travellers to be able to collect purchases.
