A*LIVE SmartSafety Tool

Adventurers looking for peace of mind may be interested in a new worldwide satellite SOS messaging system and SmartSafety tool which has been created called A*LIVE.*

Designed to provide the world’s first SmartSafety tool Markus Schlittenbauer based in Germany has created a portable device that is capable of “staying aware, because when you are in trouble every second counts” and can automatically call for help in case you are injured or incapacitated.

Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about this new satellite SOS messaging system which is now available via Kickstarter from €350 for a complete earlybird starter pack.

MarkusExplains more about the inspiration behind his SOS system and some of its features

In 2003 we started the development of safety solutions for watersports. For decades there were no professional safety systems for surfers or kiter at all, although it can get life-threatening rapidly when they adrift. However, apart from very expensive, complicated and heavy expedition gear with satellite-only connection, a water resistant device that keeps a permanent connection to the land didn’t exist yet. That’s where we started. These key points are solved by the A*LIVE SmartSafety tool:*

• Dependency on mobile network
• High costs for satellite-only devices
• Missing or unreliable 2-way-communication
• Unreliable waterproofness
• Missing automatic SOS, self-awareness, no dead-man-switch
• No connectivity to external triggers like pulse meters or avalanche airbags

100% connected globally – life saving for people in trouble. The essential SmartSafety function is the connection to someone who can help you when you have a problem. Cell phones are not reliable enough to provide a safe connection, because of dead zones in GSM (2G/3G/4G) networks, sensitivity to cold, heat and moisture, or a limited, temperature depending battery time.

A*LIVE automatically keeps the connection to the world even in dead zones up to four days in a row without charging. Everywhere and anytime on a global scale. You can communicate whenever you want to – or whenever you need to!

A*LIVE automatically chooses the least cost network: GSM, 3G/4G or Iridium Satellite. This secures 100% coverage at a fixed low cost rate. No roaming hassle, independent of any local network, power supply or the internet. A*LIVE also works on the sea or on mountains. In case of an emergency you or your partner does not have to run and search for a connection. You can stay together wherever you are.
