Back at E3 the stealth survival game Alien Isolation Oculus Rift features were shown using the aesome Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, that was originally launched by a successful Kickstarter crowd funding been campaign by Oculus VR who were then later purchased by Facebook earlier this year for a kool $2 billion.
Now thanks to a dedicated developer and fan of the Alien Isolation game, a hack has been revealed that will bring back some of the Oculus Rift support to the game.
Enabling developers and gamers that are lucky enough to own and Oculus Rift VR headset to engage in an even more immersive and survival experience. The new Alien Isolation Oculus Rift hack enables the ability to lean around corners and use the the motion tracker around if you were holding it in front of you.
Unfortunately the fan made version doesn’t yet include all the features that were shown during this year’s E3 demonstration, however it does provide some of the functionality which was unfortunately left out of the current version by the games developers.
Let’s hope that when the Oculus Rift is finally launched as a consumer virtual reality headset, that the game’s designers will enable full Oculus Rift support to provide an even more scary gaming environment.
