The design team behind the Air Pack backpack explain a little more about its inspiration and design. “We love traveling. And we’ve tried a whole bunch of light day packs in our years of travel and exploration. And all the day packs we tried had something in common: they were really uncomfortable. So we did what any exasperated product designer does: we designed a new daypack. One that still folds up into a tiny ball but expands into a full comfortable backpack.
The next-level comfort is thanks to our patent-pending air-cushioned support system that inflates in just one big breath. It’s been described as like having a backpack made of clouds. Clouds that are gently hugging you for some reason. It might be a bit hyperbolic, but it’s also SUPER comfy.”
When not in use the backpack collapses down into a tiny pouch for easy storing. The Air Pack rucksack is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges available from $69 or £53. If all goes well worldwide shipping is expected to take place during January 2019.
