Adobe is now pushing Flash towards 3D developers by adding a new layer to its Flash standard with a 3D layer. Adobe will be including a new 3D rendering engine in the next Flash release.
Unfortunately this isn’t the the 3D glasses version but a method for 3D vector graphics to be used in any 3D game or application without the need for special specifications.
Adobe has announced the new 3D feature as a blog post and will be presenting Flash Player 3D Future at the October Adobe Max conference but no official announcement has yet been made by Adobe.
During the Adobe Max conference Adobe will be revealing the next generation 3D API. Saying “forget what you have seen before, it is going to be big”.
Flash needed to add this feature to their software just to keep up with other technologies and its use in games and augmented reality may help establish the technology in new mobile formats that Flash is currentkly struggling to find a place in.
