This month ADATA has announced the availability of two new rugged external hard drives in the form of the ADATA HD710M Pro and ADATA HD710A Pro both of which offer capacities of up to 2TB and come equipped with a high speed USB 3.1 interface. The military-grade storage solutions are new additions to the Durable series of storage solutions from ADATA, and have been designed to combine “reliability and creative flair” says the company.
Available in both camouflage and silver finishes the ADATA HD710M Pro and ADATA HD710A Pro external storage drives offer protection against dust and moisture. Thanks to certification that exceeds the required IP68 standards. On top of this the HD710M Pro and HD710A Pro are both equipped with shock sensors that can detect vibrations. When detected the hard drives emit a red warning LED and the device will automatically activate its protective systems to prevent damage to data and hardware.
An optional extra is available in the form of a waterproof cover that can be easily attached to the exterior of both storage devices providing even more protection if required. Allowing the drives to be submerged for 60 minutes in 2m of water.
The HD710A Pro also comes with support for Apple’s HFS+ system and supports Apple Time Machine technology. Making it a good choice for Apple Mac users looking to quickly backup their data. For more information and full specifications jump over to the official ADATA website.
