If you are in the market for a small yet powerful backup battery to keep your gadgets juiced up whilst away from the grid. You might be interested in a new 50 Whr backup battery pack called the BatteryBox which has been designed by Gbatteries.
Gbatteries has developed a new battery technology which is incorporated into the BatteryBox and will provide you with the same amount of charge for up to 5 years without any battery life degradation.
Its creators explain: “This isn’t just an ordinary battery – it’s powered by BatteryOS, a new way of controlling rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that enables them to have higher capacity and not degrade over time. That means BatteryBox will last 3000 full charge and discharge cycles, and still retain 96% of capacity after 5 years.”
Gbatteries is a current Y Combinator company and has developed the 50Whr BatteryBox to provide you with enough mobile power to run a MacBook Air for 12 hours, a MacBook Pro for 6 hours, or to charge your iPhone from flat to full 8 times.
The BatteryBox itself is re-charged using a MicroUSB, and takes around 4.5 hrs to reach an 80 percent charge or nine hours for 100 percent charge on a 1A power supply, or half that time if you use a 2A power supply.
