Subaru fans are always wanting more power from the WRX and BRZ rides. The problem is that Subaru is not really into power gains for its performance cars. That might change with the 2019 Subaru WRX STI rumored for a slight power bump for the new model.
The rumor comes from a 2019 model year VIN decoder document that was sent to the NHTSA by Subaru. That document shows the turbo 2.5L boxer in the car will be rated for 310 hp. If you are wondering that’s a 5hp bump from the 2018 model.
The turbo 2.0 in the normal WRX keeps the same 268hp rating. The extra 5hp puts the 2019 STI on par with the STI Type RA limited edition car that landed as a 2018 model.
