Jaguar has announced that the 2018 versions of their Jaguar F-Pace, Jaguar XF, and Jaguar XE will come with a new range of Ingenium engines. These new engines are designed to provide improved performance and, at the same time, lower running costs and improved efficiency.
Enhanced Performance and Efficiency
The changes broaden the appeal of all three models, with a pair of all-new four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines introduced alongside a high-output 240PS diesel powerplant. In addition, F-PACE benefits from an efficient new E-Performance diesel derivative, which promises CO2 emissions as low as 126g/km†.
The new 200PS (available with XE and XF) and 250PS 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines use Jaguar Land Rover’s low friction all-aluminium-intensive design to provide excellent thermal properties and lightweight construction for improved efficiency and enhanced vehicle dynamics. Models with the 200PS engine wear a 20t badge while 250PS derivatives are identified by 25t badging.
Innovative Engineering and Design
Jaguar’s Ingenium engines are a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and engineering excellence. These engines are built to deliver a balance of power and efficiency, ensuring that drivers can enjoy a dynamic driving experience without compromising on fuel economy. The all-aluminium construction not only reduces the overall weight of the vehicle but also enhances its handling and agility.
For instance, the 240PS diesel engine is designed to offer robust performance, making it ideal for those who require a bit more power for their driving needs. This engine is particularly beneficial for long-distance drivers who need a reliable and efficient powerplant that can handle various driving conditions.
Moreover, the E-Performance diesel derivative is a significant addition to the F-PACE lineup. This engine variant is engineered to deliver lower CO2 emissions, making it an environmentally friendly option for eco-conscious drivers. With emissions as low as 126g/km, this engine helps reduce the vehicle’s carbon footprint while still providing ample power for everyday driving.
The Ingenium engines also feature advanced technologies such as variable valve timing and turbocharging, which enhance their performance and efficiency. These technologies ensure that the engines deliver smooth and responsive power across a wide range of driving conditions, from city commutes to highway cruising.
In addition to the new engines, Jaguar has also made several other updates to the 2018 models to enhance their overall appeal. These updates include improved infotainment systems, advanced driver assistance features, and refined interior materials. These enhancements ensure that the F-PACE, XF, and XE continue to offer a premium driving experience that is both enjoyable and convenient.
