Siri Could Be Headed To Apple’s Mac Platform

Siri is currently available on Apple’s iPhone and iPad, and now it would appear that Apple has plans to also launch Siri on their Mac platform, a recent job listing has hinted that Siri may be headed to the Mac.

Apple are looking for a new Siri UI engineer in their latest job listing, and it gives a few hints that Apple intend to integrate Siri into Mac OS X, of course this has yet to be confirmed by Apple.

This is a broad-ranging task – we take every application that Siri interacts with, distill it down to fundamentals, and implement that application’s UI in a theme fitting with Siri. Consider it an entire miniature OS within the OS, and you get a good idea of the scope!

Of course, each of these little “snippets” corresponds to an individual application, so you will have extensive cross-functional work with many other teams. You’ll need to work with them to enable access to their data and behaviors, and wire them up to your implementations. As a result, strong API design is needed to keep communications ideal.

As soon as we get some more information on Siri for OS X we will let you guys know, Apple can obviously see Siri as a big part of the future of iOS and OS X.
