Accessing certain applications you always use in your car can repetitive and also sometimes distracting. One company is now hoping to change this and has created a smart magnetic phone mount which combines with a companion application to automatically initiate your favourite in-car applications such as music, maps, weather and more.
Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about QLYX which is being marketed as the “ultimate smart mount that tunes your life”. This week QLYX has been launched by Kickstarter and is now available to back with pledges starting from $29 for early bird backers and shipping expected to take place during October 2017.
The developing team behind QLYX explain more about its inspiration functionality.
Technology is supposed to simplify our lives. But phones steal us from reality demanding more and more attention. We got tired of wasting time using bulky car mounts that were supposed to make our lives simpler. So we’ve decided to find a solution and developed a gadget that will make your driving experience safer and more comfortable.
Combination of smart mount and application is designed to auto-launch a desired app: navigation, streaming services, or parking place memory. Currently the mount auto-launches Waze, Spotify, Apple Maps and Google Maps, and we are constantly working on increasing the number of applications and widgets to choose from. Once parked. QLYX pins your car on the map, so you always know where you’ve left it.
The market is stuffed with mounts looking cheap and limited in colors. We are aiming at offering mount frames in a variety of colors to emphasize your style. With your help, there will be an option to order QLYX in premium materials: e.g. aluminum, wood, leather or even gold.
