LaCie has this week launched a new rugged external solid state disk (SSD) drive, which they have equipped with both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connections.
To provide super fast transfers to what system you might need to use it on, and is the first SSD product in the world with both interfaces. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
LaCie say that the new Drive provides up to 380 mbps bus-powered speeds, but you will need to use the electrical Thunderbolt cables rather than the faster optical cables for connections.
“The Rugged gets the fastest USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt speeds, whether you’re on a Mac or PC. In fact, it’s the fastest bus-powered storage product ever. All this, plus data encryption and the Rugged data protection you’ve come to depend on.”
The new rugged LaCie external solid state disk (SSD) drive is now available in stores priced at $200 for the 120GB version and the 256GB version is priced at $350.
