The new Nintendo Switch console is due to launch next month and Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima recently spoke to Time about their new console.
If you have been wondering whether the Nintendo Switch is capable of supporting VR and it looks like the console is at least capable of supporting VR.
When Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishim was asked if the Switch was powerful enough to support VR, he gave the following answer.
The very simple answer is yes. We’ve said this before, and I feel like we’re saying it a lot, but we are interested and doing research into this field. The question, of course, is “What is the best way to bring virtual reality to our customers as a form of entertainment?” Not just, “Hey, look! It’s realistic!” or whatever, but what is the best way to use this technology to bring something fun to our consumer base? We are definitely looking at that.
Whether or not Nintendo will bring VR to their Switch consple remains to be seen and if they do this is not something that will be available at launch next month.
