Apple announced their new tvOS 13 at WWDC earlier this month, along with iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina.
We have already seen lots of videos of the iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina, now we have a video from MacRumors that gives us a look at the new tvOS.
In the video below, we get to look at some of the features in the new tvOS software, including details on the new Apple Arcade and more.
New Features in tvOS 13
One of the most exciting features of tvOS 13 is the introduction of multi-user support. This allows each family member to have their own personalized experience on Apple TV. Each user can have their own Up Next list, personalized recommendations, and access to their own music library. Switching between users is seamless and can be done directly from the Control Center.
Another significant addition is the new Control Center, which provides quick access to key Apple TV features. Users can easily switch profiles, access settings, and control music playback without interrupting their viewing experience.
Apple Arcade is another major highlight of tvOS 13. This gaming subscription service offers access to over 100 new and exclusive games, all without ads or in-app purchases. The games can be played across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, allowing for a seamless gaming experience across all Apple devices. The inclusion of support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers makes Apple TV a more versatile gaming platform.
Enhanced User Experience
tvOS 13 also brings an updated home screen that features full-screen video previews. This dynamic new interface makes it easier to discover new content and provides a more immersive browsing experience. The new screensavers in tvOS 13 are another visual treat. Apple has collaborated with the BBC Natural History Unit to create stunning underwater screensavers, showcasing the beauty of the ocean’s depths.
The Music app on Apple TV has also been revamped. It now includes time-synced lyrics, allowing users to sing along to their favorite songs. This feature is particularly useful for parties and gatherings, turning your Apple TV into a karaoke machine.
Apple has also improved the performance and speed of tvOS 13, making it more responsive and efficient. The new software is designed to take full advantage of the latest Apple TV hardware, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
Apple is expected to release their new tvOS sometime in September along with the new iOS 13 software. As soon as we get some details on an exact launch date for the software, we will let you guys know.
