VTech is well know for making gadgets that are designed for children, the company’s makes smart watches, tablets and more and now they have announced that their VTech Learning Lodge app store has been hacked.
The VTech Learning Lodge is an app store for children and the company has said that it was hacked on the 14th of November.
Whilst no credit card information was taken, some peoples personal details were taken including the username, password and security questions, this included around 4.8 million adults and 200,000 children.
Upon discovering the unauthorized access we immediately conducted a thorough investigation, which involved a comprehensive check of the affected site and implementation of measures to defend against any further attacks.
Our customer database contains general user profile information including name, email address, encrypted password, secret question and answer for password retrieval, IP address, mailing address and download history.”
