VIA has this week launched its new VIA Springboard development platform with a kit in the form of a small ARM-powered board which is priced at $99.
The new VIA Springboard VAB-600 Kit comes with an ultra-compact VIA VAB-600 Pico-ITX board with an I/O extender card, A/C adaptor, and COM and USB cables, offering everything you need to start developing and building the next generation of connected hardware devices.
VIA has also created anther VIA Springboard kit that comes with Wi-Fi connectivity for $129 if preferred and both are available to purchase from the official VIA Springboard website. The VIA VNT9271 Springboard USB WiFi Module features the Atheros AR9271 controller chip and is fully compliant with IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards working from 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz. Providing speeds up to 11Mbps for IEEE 802.11b, 54Mbps for IEEE 802.11g or 150Mbps for IEEE 802.11n.
