Motorola did a commendable job by releasing the Android 4.4 KitKat for its Moto X on all major US carriers back in November. But, it’s been a few months and Google’s Nexus line up is already running the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat that comes with a few enhancements and bug fixes.
Those running Android 4.4 on their Moto X have been haunted by strange battery drain issues, and Moto has said that an update is on its way and will address a couple of known issues. Well, it seems the update might be on the horizon as a lucky duo has reported that they received the Android 4.4 KitKat update on their Verizon-branded Moto X.
A Reddit user who goes by the name of “odin2347” received the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update via over-the-air after he purchased the Moto X. Surprisingly, after the usual Android 4.4 OTA, he was prompted for another update that installed the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat on his device with build date going as early as January 10th.
The report could have been fake, but a know Twitter informant P3Droid also confirmed on Twitter that he’s running the same build as the one shown in the screenshot above.
If you’re rocking a Verizon Moto X, try to check if you also received the update. In case you do, let us know in the comments section below.
