After Google unveiled their new Daydream virtual reality headset yesterday, Epic have been quick to announce that their Unreal Engine is today available with support for the Android Daydream VR system.
Epic Games’ Kim Libreri today took to the stage at Google’s I/O conference this week to revealed the news about Unreal Engine and that the software is now available to download for developers to use to create virtual reality applications for the new Google Daydream VR headset which is expected to launch sometime later this year.
Also during the Google developer conference Epic Technical Director, Nick Whiting demonstrated how the Unreal Engine can be used with the new Android N OS and the new Daydream controller to create immersive virtual reality applications and experiences. Check out the video below to learn more.
Google has not yet released any pricing or official launch date as yet for the Daydream VR headset, which will be powered by a selection of compatible smartphones from a variety of different manufacturers which are listed here.
