TiVo has today announced the launch of a new service called TiVo out-of-home streaming on the TiVo Roamio Pro and TiVo Roamio Plus DVRs, which has been created to allow owners to stream and download your live TV and recorded content an iOS smartphone or tablet from anywhere. With support for streaming over 4G/LTE as well as support for Android devices arriving sometime in 2014.
Features of the new TiVo out-of-home streaming include the ability watchlive or recorded shows remotely via wireless networks and providing the same navigation system as you enjoy whilst at home while you are in a hotel room or away from your main TiVo at home.
The support TiVo Roamio DVR Series is made up of three models the TiVo Roamio which is available for $200, the TiVo Roamio Plus priced at $400 and TiVo Roamio Pro priced at $600. offering features such as storage from 75 hours to 450 hours of HD content together with four or six tuners depending on your requirements.
Also all current subscribers with a TiVo Roamio Pro and TiVo Roamio Plus set-top box will automatically will be eligible to get the out-of-home streaming feature as an automatic software and mobile app update, which has started rolling out today.
