Apple offers two versions of their iPad Pro at the moment: a 9.7-inch model and a 12.9-inch model. Now, it appears that they may launch a third size next year and replace the 9.7-inch model.
According to a recent report, Apple will launch a new 10.1-inch iPad Pro next year that will replace the 9.7-inch model. Additionally, Apple will also launch a new 7.9-inch version.
New iPad Pro Models and Features
Previous rumors have suggested that Apple would launch a 10.5-inch iPad Pro in 2017, although it was not clear that this may replace the 9.7-inch model. According to a recent report by Macotakara, these new iPad Pro models will come with a 12-megapixel camera and a True Tone flash. The True Tone flash is expected to enhance photo quality by adjusting the lighting to match the environment, providing more natural-looking photos.
These new iPad Pro models will also apparently keep the 3.5mm audio jack, although we have no idea how accurate this is as Apple recently ditched the headphone jack on their new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The decision to retain the audio jack on the iPad Pro could be due to the different use cases of the iPad compared to the iPhone, where users might still prefer the traditional headphone connection for various professional and creative applications.
Potential Impact on the Market
The introduction of a 10.1-inch iPad Pro could significantly impact the tablet market. The 9.7-inch model has been a popular choice for many users due to its balance of portability and screen size. By increasing the screen size slightly to 10.1 inches, Apple may be aiming to provide a better viewing experience without compromising too much on portability. This could attract users who find the 12.9-inch model too large and the 9.7-inch model slightly too small.
Moreover, the addition of a 7.9-inch iPad Pro could cater to users who prefer a more compact device. This smaller model could be particularly appealing to those who use their iPads for reading, note-taking, or other tasks that benefit from a more portable form factor. It could also serve as a more powerful alternative to the iPad Mini, offering Pro-level features in a smaller package.
As soon as we get some more details about the new 2017 iPad Pro range and when they will be available, we will let you guys know. The anticipation for these new models is high, and it will be interesting to see how Apple positions them in their product lineup and how they will be received by consumers.
