The new Porsche Panamera is now official and Porsche has given the car a new design. Gone are the Panamera’s ugly duckling looks, it now looks stunning from every angle.
The new Porsche Panamera obviously takes some of its design cues from the Porsche 911 and I suspect this will end up being a very popular car for Porsche.
Porsche have announced three engine options for the Panamera so far, a Panamera 4S, a Panamera Turbo and a Panamera Diesel.
First up is the Panamera Turbo which comes with a 4 litre turbo V8 engine that produces 542 horsepower, this gives the Turbo a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of 3.6 seconds with Sports Chrono installed, it also has a top speed of 190 miles per hour.
The Panamera 4S comes with a 434 horsepower V6 bi-turbo engine that gives a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of 4.4 seconds.
The Diesel option comes with a bi-turbo V8 diesel which comes with a massive 627lb ft of torque and a 0 to 62 miles per hour time of 4.3 seconds, this model is called the Panamera 4S Diesel.
“We have tapped into the segment of luxury sport saloons with the Panamera. Since it launched in 2009, more than 150,000 units of the Panamera have been sold. In the new model, you see here a completely redeveloped automobile – with new engines, a new design and new technologies. Also new is that we are now manufacturing the second generation vehicle entirely at our Leipzig production site. We have also invested a sum of 500 million euros – which includes a completely new body manufacturing facility,” emphasised Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.
