The Tesla Powerwall was announced back in May of last year, the device has been sold out for a while and now we have some details on the Tesla Powerwall 2.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the Tesla Powerwall 2 will be released this year, we can expect to find out more details about the device in July or August.
The news was confirmed in a statement given to Tech Radar by the Tesla CEO, you can see what he had to say below.
“We are coming up with the version two of the Powerwall probably around July or August of this year, which will see further step changes in capabilities,” said Musk.
The Powerwall is designed to provide backup battery power for your home, it can be mounted on the wall and it features a lithium-ion battery that can store power generated from solar panels and also from the electricity grid.
We wonder what changes will come with the second generation device, it could come with a larger battery and may also be cheaper than the first generation device, as soon as we get some more information on what Tesla has planned, we will let you guys know.
