When I first wanted to get a 3D printer, I spent weeks scouring the internet for an affordable 3D printer that could deliver high-quality prints. I could not find one. It was either a $700 quality kit or a $200 Chinese Acrylic i3. There was no middle ground. I ended up shelling out the $700 for a RepRap kit that still was incomplete. Phase 1 changes that by offering the same quality as an expensive printer while only costing $375. Phase 1 also comes as a complete kit that includes all necessary parts for assembly.
Building a 3D printer, is the best way to enter the world of 3D printing. By assembling a printer yourself, you learn the basics of how a printer works and gain a greater understanding of what they can really do. You will learn how to wire the control board, how to upload firmware, how the hotend works, and how to tune in your slicer to get perfect prints every time. Phase 1 is designed to be easy to assemble with no soldering, while also giving you the full learning experience of assembling a RepRap 3D printer. If you want to get started with 3D printing there is no better way than to build your own Phase 1.
