Today Sony has announced that is currently developing a new Handycam NXCAM with E-Mount Lens. The new type of E-mount interchangeable lens camcorder is being designed for professional use in mind and it will be equipped with a Super-35mm equivalent large format CMOS sensor.
Sony is also hoping to add support for 1080p (60p / 30p / 24p*2 or 50p / 25p) recording modes. For a brief look at the new camera watch the video after the jump.
The E-mount interchangeable lens system is identical to the “α” series NEX-5, 3 and “Handycam” NEX-VG10 and their E-mount lenses will be compatible with the new professional Handycam NXCAM camcorder.
The new Handycam NXCAM With E-Mount lens is expected to be ready for official launch and sale in the middle of 2011. We will keep you posted as news becomes available.
