Yesterday Sony Ericsson added another new Android smartphone to their range, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, and now UK mobile phone operator Three has confirmed that the Xperia Ray will be available on their network.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray features a 3.3 inch touchscreen display, and will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, plus a 1GHz processor and Sony Ericsson’s Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine.
The Xperia Ray features the same 8.1 megapixel Exmor R sensor that can be found in the Xperia Arc, it is capable of recording HD video in 720p, and also features geo-tagging, auto-focus and 16x digital zoom.
Enhanced Display and Camera Features
The Xperia Ray’s Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine ensures that users get vibrant and sharp visuals, making it ideal for multimedia consumption. The 3.3 inch screen, although smaller compared to some of the larger smartphones available, offers a high resolution that enhances the viewing experience. This makes it a great choice for users who prefer a more compact device without compromising on display quality.
The 8.1 megapixel Exmor R sensor is a standout feature, providing excellent low-light performance and superior image quality. The ability to record HD video in 720p means that users can capture high-definition videos with ease. The inclusion of geo-tagging allows users to keep track of where their photos were taken, adding a personal touch to their photo albums. The auto-focus feature ensures that every shot is clear and sharp, while the 16x digital zoom allows for close-up shots without losing detail.
Software and Performance
Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Xperia Ray offers a smooth and responsive user experience. The 1GHz processor ensures that the device can handle multiple applications and tasks simultaneously without any lag. This makes it suitable for both casual users and those who require a reliable device for work and productivity.
Sony Ericsson has also included their custom user interface, which adds a layer of personalization and functionality to the standard Android experience. Users can expect a range of pre-installed applications and widgets that enhance the overall usability of the device.
