The new HDMI video-out port enables the Slingbox to now overlay a new SlingTV user interface on to your TV screen, with the updated SlingTV’s programming guide resembling the Media Gallery in SlingPlayer for iPad.

Offering users a grid style layout showing cover art as well as filters to view sports, movies, kids’ shows, other categories all within easy access. Other useful additions include a new latest scores for current games in progress over on the Sports section together with access to more stats and game news.
SlingTV has been designed to transform your HDTV into a smart TV allowing you to easily watch media or movies, and set up your own favourites with the on-screen Gallery view. Slinbox explains a little more about their $300 SlingTV hardware and updated software :
“SlingTV, from the makers of Slingbox, now makes it easier to find and watch all my live and recorded shows, movies and sports through one smart TV-enabled box. I can access the services I already pay for through a single interface – at home or on-the-go, on any device, anywhere in the world.”
