Fans of the massively popular Skyrim will be pleased to know that the first DLC for Skyrim, Dawnguard, will be available to download for the Xbox 360 from today. The version that will be available from today is the English language version.
Bethesda has said that they are expecting to release other language versions in July, which include the French, Spanish, German, and Italian versions. These are expected to be available around the middle of July.
What to Expect in Dawnguard
Dawnguard introduces a host of new content to the already expansive world of Skyrim. Players will find themselves embroiled in a conflict between the Dawnguard, an ancient order of vampire hunters, and the Volkihar Clan, a powerful group of vampires. This DLC offers players the choice to either join the Dawnguard and fight against the vampire menace or become a vampire lord themselves, gaining unique abilities and powers.
The DLC also adds new locations to explore, including the eerie Soul Cairn, the hidden vampire stronghold of Castle Volkihar, and the Dawnguard’s fortress. Players can expect new quests, weapons, armor, and even the ability to tame and ride dragons. The addition of crossbows and new shouts further enhances the gameplay experience, providing more options for combat and exploration.
Enhanced Gameplay and Features
One of the standout features of Dawnguard is the introduction of the Vampire Lord transformation. This new form grants players powerful abilities such as summoning gargoyles, draining life from enemies, and transforming into a swarm of bats to evade attacks. However, becoming a Vampire Lord comes with its own set of challenges, including vulnerability to sunlight and the need to feed on the blood of the living to maintain strength.
On the other hand, joining the Dawnguard offers its own set of perks. Players can gain access to new weapons like the crossbow, which is particularly effective against vampires. The Dawnguard also provides unique armor sets and the ability to recruit armored trolls as followers, adding a new layer of strategy to battles.
