24SHOTS based in New York has this month unveiled their new Silencer electronic camera follow focus system, which is the first of its kind to be controlled by a trigger system for improved accuracy and control whilst focusing.
Silencer has been designed to both be simple to use and provide professional results, and the trigger allows you to easily control the focus control on your camera as you need, see it in action in the video after the jump.
The Silencer system is fitted with a motor rail and belt drive system that has been designed to address a number of issues other less robust solutions currently on the market have problems with. Including the bulky size of their gear drive, the distracting, loud noises they produce and compatibility issues with other photographic equipment, explains 24SHOTS.
“We set out to create a follow focus system that allows precise control of your focus while remaining in complete control of your rig and doesn’t require a second person to get the perfect shot, allowing true RUN and GUN shooting for indie and commercial filmmakers! We call it the Silencer.
We also wanted the Silencer to provide flexibility. We engineered the trigger control so that it can be mounted on any handle style or any round object and have precise function: The ultimate flexibility!”
The Silencer project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production.
