Sierra Wireless have just unveiled their new mobile Wi-Fi HotSpots at MWC 2011 in Barcelona this week. The two new additions to the Sierra Wireless hotspot range are the AirCard 753S and the 754S.
These compact mobile hotspots support mobile broadband speeds up to 100 Mbps with the ability to access the fastest HSPA+ networks available. Also supporting Dual Carrier HSPA+, HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS.
The 753S provides up to 42Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload on DC-HSPA+ networks and the 754S up to 100Mbps download and up to 50Mbps on LTE networks.
Advanced Features and Connectivity
Both devices are equipped with LCD screens providing information on signal strength, battery life and showing the connected devices. Each hotspot is capable of providing mobile connections for up to 5 devices at a time. This makes them ideal for small teams or families who need reliable internet access on the go.
The LCD screens are not just for show; they offer real-time data that can help users manage their connectivity more effectively. For instance, knowing the battery life at a glance can be crucial during long trips where charging options might be limited. Additionally, the signal strength indicator helps users find the best spot for optimal connectivity, which is particularly useful in areas with fluctuating signal quality.
Use Cases and Practical Applications
These mobile hotspots are perfect for a variety of scenarios. Business travelers can benefit from the high-speed internet access to stay connected with their teams and clients. Remote workers can use these devices to set up a mobile office anywhere, ensuring they remain productive even when away from traditional office settings.
Families on vacation can also find these hotspots incredibly useful. With the ability to connect up to 5 devices, everyone can stay entertained and connected, whether it’s streaming movies, playing online games, or keeping up with social media. The robust connectivity options ensure that the whole family can enjoy a seamless internet experience.
Moreover, these devices can serve as a backup internet solution for homes and small businesses. In case of a primary internet service outage, the Sierra Wireless hotspots can provide a reliable alternative, ensuring that critical online activities can continue without interruption.
Full specifications are available on the Sierra Wireless website, where you can find detailed information about the technical capabilities and compatibility of these devices.
