HTC announced the company will roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop within 90 days of receiving the code from Google, with the HTC One M7 and M8 expected to get it in January, but it won’t bring Sense 7 UI on board. If you can’t recall, we’ve already seen some screenshots of the Android 5.0 running on the HTC One M8 with Sense 6 UI.
The popular HTC ROM developer LlabTooFer mentioned that Sense 7 will not roll out with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, instead, it’s planned for the next flagship device codenamed Hima, which is expected to see the light of the day in March next year.
We’ve heard a lot about HTC Hima, possibly the HTC One M9, and it makes sense for the Taiwanese company to release their next big Sense update with it. LlabTooFer further mentioned that 2014 devices will get the Sense 7 update by May-June next year, although its still unknown if any older 2013 devices will get it. But, you never know, HTC may have a change of heart and decides to roll it out for older devices as well.
We’ll update you as soon as the Android 5.0 Lollipop update starts rolling out for HTC devices.
