Seagate has today announced the purchase of computer hardware company LaCie, offering to purchase Philippe Spruch, LaCie CEO’s 64.5% ownership position, for a price of $186 million.
LaCie, well known for its external drives which we have featured here on Geeky Gadgets, will be a good match for Seagate, who currently produces both internal and external storage drives, and is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hard disk drives.
