Samsung has big plans for its new Tizen OS, and according to a recent report, a Samsung Tizen smartphone is being tested by the various mobile carriers in Korea.
As yet there are no details on which device the mobile carriers are testing for Samsung, although it could possibly be the Samsung Z9005 that we recently saw in a video.
Samsung plans to launch a number of Tizen powered devices next year, the OS will not just be for mobile devices, but will also be used in a number of Samsung devices like their smart fridges and smart TVs.
Samsung also has plans to integrate their Tizen OS into cars, we recently heard that the company is working with auto makers Jaguar, Land Rover and Toyota.
In the video we saw recently of the prototype Samsung Tizen smartphone, the handsets user interface is very similar to the custom user interface that Samsung uses in their Android smartphones.
This is a smart move by Samsung, as current users of Samsung’s Android devices, will instantly recognize the user interface on the new Samsung Tizen smartphones.
We are expecting the first Tizen powered smartphones from Samsung early next year, and we suspect the company may show off a device at either CES in January of Mobile World Congress in February.
