We recently heard a rumor that Samsung were interested in buying Tidal, the music streaming service owned by Jay Z, according to a new report the company’s Milk Music service may be shutting down.
The news comes in a report from Variety who have said that Samsung intends to shut Milk Music down as it revamps its music strategy.
It is possible that Tidal could be part of Samsung’s music strategy, although the company has denied to Variety that it is in talks to acquire Tidal.
Milk Music comes with personalized radio stations and when it launched it was exclusive to Samsung devices, although now it is available on the web and also Samusng’s Smart TV’s.
Exactly what Samsung’s new music strategy will be remains to be seen, as yet there are no details on exactly when Milk Music will shut down, Samsung has yet to confirm this.
