Apple and Samsung are in the middle of a number of different court cases around the world, Apple won a major victory against Samsung a while back when Samsung were told by a US court to pay Apple over $1 billion in damages.
Apple has also been involved in various court cases with other Android manufacturers, one of those is HTC, who have now agreed a patent licensing deal with Apple, but Samsung has announced that they have no intention of doing the same thing.
Samsung recently told reporters that they do not intend to follow HTC and agree a patent licensing deal with Apple, you can see the statement from Samsung below.
“We have no such intention,” J.K. Shin, the head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile unit, told reporters on Wednesday when asked if Samsung would seek a similar settlement.
HTC is reported to be paying Apple around $8 for each Android device they sell, if Samsung agreed to a similar deal, they they would end up paying Apple a considerable sum each year as they sell a lot more Android devices than HTC.
