The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 launched last year and now it looks like Samsung is getting ready to launch the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5.
The Xcover 4 launched back in March of 2017, now a reference to its successor, the Galaxy Xcover 5 has recently appeared on Samsung’s website in New Zealand.
As yet there are no details on what specifications the new Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5 will come with. The existing Xcover 4 features a 4.99 inch display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it comes with a 64-bit quad core processor.
Other specifications on the existing device include a 13 megapixel camera and a 2800 mAh battery, plus Android Nougat and it conforms to the MIL-STD 810G US military standard. As soon as we get some more details about the new Xcover 5, we will let you guys know.
Expected Features and Improvements
Given the advancements in technology since the release of the Xcover 4, it is reasonable to expect that the Xcover 5 will come with several improvements. One of the most anticipated upgrades is likely to be in the display department. While the Xcover 4 had a 4.99-inch HD display, the Xcover 5 might feature a larger screen with Full HD resolution, providing a more immersive viewing experience.
In terms of processing power, the Xcover 5 is expected to come with a more powerful processor, possibly an octa-core chipset, which would significantly enhance its performance. This would make the device more capable of handling multitasking and running demanding applications smoothly.
Enhanced Durability and Battery Life
Durability has always been a key selling point for the Xcover series, and the Xcover 5 is expected to continue this tradition. The Xcover 4 conformed to the MIL-STD 810G US military standard, making it resistant to extreme temperatures, shocks, and water. The Xcover 5 is likely to meet or exceed these standards, making it an ideal choice for users who need a rugged smartphone for outdoor activities or demanding work environments.
Battery life is another area where the Xcover 5 could see significant improvements. The Xcover 4 came with a 2800 mAh battery, which was decent for its time. However, with the increasing demands of modern applications and the need for longer battery life, the Xcover 5 might feature a larger battery, possibly around 3500 to 4000 mAh. This would ensure that the device can last through a full day of heavy usage without needing a recharge.
Camera and Software Enhancements
The camera setup on the Xcover 5 is also expected to see upgrades. The Xcover 4 featured a 13-megapixel rear camera, which was quite good for its time. However, with the advancements in mobile photography, the Xcover 5 might come with a higher resolution camera, possibly around 16 to 20 megapixels, along with improved low-light performance and additional features like optical image stabilization (OIS) and enhanced autofocus.
On the software front, the Xcover 5 is expected to run on a more recent version of Android, possibly Android 10 or 11, with Samsung’s One UI on top. This would bring a host of new features and improvements, including better security, enhanced user interface, and more customization options.
While we await the official announcement and detailed specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5, it is clear that the device is set to bring several improvements over its predecessor. With a larger and higher resolution display, more powerful processor, enhanced durability, better battery life, and improved camera setup, the Xcover 5 is shaping up to be a worthy successor to the Xcover 4. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch.
