Samsung Galaxy S7 is possibly the most popular S series handset, and helped the Korean company improve their financials.
With the current Galaxy Note 7 exploding debacle going on, it seems the company has apparently started thinking on how they can turn things around. One way is to push the launch of the Galaxy S8 a little earlier as there’s no confirmation if the Galaxy Note 7 sales can kickstart after this problem.
Recently, some model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S8 were leaked, revealing the existence of the handsets. According to a new report from SamMobile, the Korean company is working on two versions of the Galaxy S8 codenamed Dream and Dream 2 with model numbers SM-G950 and SMG955 respectively. We’re guessing on is the simple version while the second is the “Edge” version.
Many may assume that since the Galaxy S7 came with a model number SM-G930, the Galaxy S8 should be G940, but that’s not the case. Many people in South Korea consider number 4 to be badluck and try to avoid it. So it seems the Korean company did the same, and this is not the first time, a similar shift happen when the company upgraded to the Galaxy S4 from Galaxy S3.
It’s a little too early to talk about the Galaxy S8 at the moment, but we’ll update you if we hear anything more.
