Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 in South Korea.
The update is currently rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S5 with model number SM-G900L operating on LG Uplus in the company’s home country.
New Features and Improvements
The new update brings a handful of improvements, new features, bug fixes, and speed optimizations to improve the overall user experience of the handset. One of the most notable features is the improved battery performance thanks to the Doze feature. Doze intelligently manages battery usage by putting the device into a deep sleep state when it is not in use, significantly extending battery life.
Additionally, the update includes enhanced app permissions, allowing users to have more control over the data and functions that apps can access. This means you can now individually grant or deny permissions to apps, enhancing your privacy and security.
Enhanced User Experience
The update also brings a more streamlined and intuitive user interface, making it easier for users to navigate through their device. The new animations and transitions provide a smoother experience, and the overall performance of the device has been optimized to reduce lag and improve responsiveness.
Moreover, the update includes Google Now on Tap, a feature that provides contextual information based on the content currently displayed on your screen. For example, if you are reading an article about a movie, you can hold the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews, trailers, and showtimes.
If you’re in possession of the Samsung Galaxy S5 with the model number SM-G900L, wait for the update as it can take a few days to reach all devices. Alternatively, you can manually check for the update by heading over to Settings and check if the update has arrived for your handset.
