It looks like next year’s Samsung Galaxy S11 smartphone will be getting a major camera upgrade over the current Galaxy S10. According to a recent report, it will use a 108-megapixel camera sensor, which is a significant leap from the 12-megapixel sensor found in the Galaxy S10.
The news comes in a tweet from Ice Universe, a well-known leaker in the tech community, who has revealed that Samsung is working on a new 108-megapixel ISOCELL sensor.

Enhanced Camera Capabilities
The 108-megapixel sensor is expected to bring a host of improvements to the Galaxy S11’s camera capabilities. This sensor, likely to be the ISOCELL Bright HMX, was developed in collaboration with Xiaomi and is already being used in the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. The sensor uses pixel-binning technology to combine four pixels into one, resulting in 27-megapixel images that are brighter and more detailed, especially in low-light conditions.
Moreover, the new sensor is expected to support 6K video recording at 30 frames per second, which would be a first for Samsung smartphones. This would allow users to capture incredibly detailed videos, making the Galaxy S11 a compelling choice for videographers and content creators.
Powerful Processors
We also heard recently that the handset would come with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor or a Samsung Exynos 9830 processor, depending on the region. The Snapdragon 865 is expected to offer significant performance improvements over its predecessor, including better AI processing, enhanced graphics performance, and improved energy efficiency. The Exynos 9830, on the other hand, is likely to feature similar enhancements, ensuring that the Galaxy S11 delivers top-notch performance regardless of the region.
These processors will also support 5G connectivity, making the Galaxy S11 one of the first mainstream smartphones to offer this feature. This will enable faster download and upload speeds, lower latency, and a more reliable connection, which is particularly beneficial for streaming high-quality video and playing online games.
Additional Features and Expectations
While the camera and processor upgrades are the most talked-about features, the Galaxy S11 is expected to come with several other enhancements. Rumors suggest that the device will feature a larger battery, possibly up to 5000mAh, to support the more power-hungry components. Additionally, the Galaxy S11 may come with a 120Hz display, offering smoother scrolling and a more responsive touch experience.
There are also speculations about improvements in the software department. The Galaxy S11 is expected to run on Samsung’s One UI 2.0, based on Android 10, which will bring new features and improvements in user experience. Features like enhanced dark mode, improved gesture navigation, and more customization options are anticipated.
It is not clear as yet what other upgrades it will get over the Samsung Galaxy S10 range of handsets. As soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know. We are expecting Samsung to make their new Galaxy S11 smartphones official sometime in either February or March of next year.
