Samsung are apparently delighted that Apple has launched the Apple Watch, the news comes in a recent report from CNBC.
Samsung’s vice president for mobile in Europe told CNBC that the company is delighted that Apple has joined them in the smartwatch market.
“Great competitors offer great things to consumers and the fact that there are so many great competitors in this space mean that there is absolutely a market. I mean, that’s what it tells you,” Rory O’Neill, the vice-president for mobile Europe at Samsung, which launches its S6 smartphone Friday, told CNBC.
“It’s with great delight that Apple has followed us into that market.”
The launch of the Apple Watch and all the hype around it may actually be good news for Android smart watches as it will draw more attention to smart watches in general and could help companies like Samsung sell more devices.
Samsung are rumored to be working on a new smartwatch and this is expected to come with Samsung’s new mobile payment system built in.
