Since the dead tree business is increasingly giving way to the might of the pixel, at least one traditional publisher is hedging its bets with an alternative storytelling medium. Black Crown is a free to play narrative-driven game made with technology built by Fallen London developers Failbetter games.
Story Nexus , the tech behind Black Crown is currently in public beta. “Black Crown is an infectious new kind of narrative experience,” according to the game’s website, which is all the information on the game available for now. The game launches in May and is meant to run for a year. There are, of course, microtransactions involved.
