Electronics enthusiasts may be interested in a new Precision Voltage Reference which has been launched via Kickstarter this month to raise the required funds to go into production. The precision fivefold reference and resistance measuring tool has been designed for instrument testing and circuit design. The voltage reference tool is available as either a DIY kit which you will need to solder yourself or preassembled allow you to get straight in to measuring your projects. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about what you can expect from this useful addition to your electronics toolkit.
Frank Fox explains more about his new Precision Voltage Reference and its capabilities.
What is a precision low voltage reference? It is a device that can supply a precise voltage, usually at least .1% accurate. For 5 volts, this would be +/- .005Volts or between 4.995 to 5.005 volts. Is it the same as a 5 volt power supply? No, both may supply 5 volts, the precision reference does not supply the same amount of current. It may only be good for a few milliamps. This is not enough to charge your iPhone, but it can supply the reference voltage to an ADC.
The Precision Voltage Reference System is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges starting from just $14 and delivery expected to take place during February 2018.
