Porsche has released a new promo video for their electric sports car, the Porsche Taycan, and we get to have a look at some of the car’s features and also its performance.
There are three different models in the Taycan range: the Turbo S, Turbo, and the Porsche Taycan 4S. All come with impressive performance.
Performance and Specifications
The Taycan Turbo S has a 0 to 60 time of 2.8 seconds, it has 761 PS which is about 750 horsepower and a range of up to 412 KM. This makes it one of the fastest electric vehicles on the market, rivaling even the Tesla Model S in terms of acceleration and speed. The Turbo model, while slightly less powerful, still offers an impressive 680 PS (approximately 670 horsepower) and a similar range. The Taycan 4S, the entry-level model, provides a more accessible option with 530 PS (around 523 horsepower) and a range of up to 407 KM.
One of the standout features of the Taycan is its 800-volt architecture, which allows for faster charging times compared to the more common 400-volt systems found in other electric vehicles. This means that the Taycan can charge from 5% to 80% in just over 22 minutes under optimal conditions, making it highly convenient for long-distance travel.
Design and Interior
The design of the Porsche Taycan is unmistakably Porsche, with sleek lines and a sporty silhouette that echoes the brand’s iconic 911 model. The interior is equally impressive, featuring a minimalist yet luxurious design with high-quality materials and advanced technology. The cockpit is dominated by multiple digital displays, including a curved 16.8-inch screen for the driver and a 10.9-inch central display for infotainment.
The Taycan also offers a range of customization options, allowing buyers to tailor the car to their personal preferences. From different color schemes to various interior trims and materials, Porsche ensures that each Taycan can be as unique as its owner.
Driving Experience
Driving the Taycan is an exhilarating experience, thanks to its low center of gravity and advanced suspension system. The car offers multiple driving modes, including a Sport Plus mode that maximizes performance for a more dynamic driving experience. The Taycan also features Porsche’s Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, which adjusts the damping force based on road conditions and driving style, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride.
In addition to its performance capabilities, the Taycan is also equipped with a range of driver assistance systems. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a night vision system, all designed to enhance safety and convenience.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for the new Taycan starts at £83,367 for the 4S model, £115,858 for the Taycan Turbo, and £138,826 for the Turbo S. While these prices place the Taycan in the premium segment of the market, the car’s performance, design, and technology make it a compelling option for those looking for a high-end electric vehicle.
The Porsche Taycan represents a significant step forward for the brand, combining the performance and luxury that Porsche is known for with the benefits of electric mobility. Whether you’re a long-time Porsche enthusiast or new to the brand, the Taycan offers an exciting glimpse into the future of sports cars.
