Home Security

A new home security solution called Point has been created by Form Devices based in Scandinavia that both listens to sounds within your house and also senses the air to make sure everything is as it should be without being too invasive.

Point has been designed to help keep your home security system as simple as possible while providing everything you need to make sure your home remains safe and secure. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Point home security solution.

Point also comes supplied with its own companion application for iOS and Android devices, that allows you to control and interact with the Point system remotely through your wireless network, wherever you may be. Its creators explain a little more about their home security solution :

“Point is subtle and small—the size of the palm of your hand. It’s designed to blend in to any home, anywhere. These are results of a focus on simplicity beyond aesthetics.

Current security systems are complex, often requiring daily interaction. Point requires no attention except an annual change of batteries. It’s designed to erase worries, not create them.

Point keeps things simple for you, but does plenty while you’re away. It listens to the sounds of your home, senses the indoor environment, and analyses the air. Point translates all data into information you care about. It notifies you of windows breaking, alarms ringing, or the presence of smoke.

You can tell Point how to respond to events: for instance, it can glow yellow if it detects cigarette smoke, or sound an alarm in case of windows breaking.”

The Point home security project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $50,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think Point is something your home could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website to make a pledge and help Point become a reality via the link below.
