Pebble has announced that it is releasing Pebble Health for its latest smart watches, the software comes as part of the release of a new Pebble firmware.
The Health software is compatible with the new Pebble Time range of devices and it comes with a native activity tracker which is integrated into Timeline on Pebble devices.
The company has developed their new Health feature in collaboration with researchers at Standford University and the software is designed to track you activity during the day and your sleep patterns at night.
Since you are your best motivator, Pebble Health focuses on personal success. Instead of striving for an arbitrary step count, your daily progress is measured against your own personal average. At night, Pebble Health tracks how long and well you sleep, helping you make better sleep decisions. Weekly graphs of both step and sleep stats make it easy to see trends over time.
Pebble Health is compatible with Apple Health Kit and Google Fit and the software is compatible with the Pebble Time, Time Steel and Time Round smart watches. In order to use the software you will need to update your Pebble Firmware to version 3.8, you can find out more details about the software at the link below.
The company is also developing an API for their new Health feature and they have said that they expect to make this available to developers early next year.
