OWC has announced the launch of a new storage system they have created in the form of the Mercury Elite Pro Quad external storage solution that offers f our SATA drive bays enabling up to 48TB of storage to be easily managed thanks to the inclusion of the SoftRAID engine from a single USB-C connection.
The Mercury Elite Pro Quad’s powerful USB-C interface delivers 10Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 bandwidth. Supporting both Mac and PC connections as well as mixed Mac and PC environments the high-capacity storage system has been designed for post- production firms, photographers, creative agencies, higher education programs, and small businesses, says OWC.
The Mercury Elite Pro Quad storage system is equipped with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface and USB-C port that functions universally with any USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 equipped Windows PC or Apple Mac workstation.
Compatible with 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives, the Mercury Elite Pro Quad’s four universal drive bays let users pack up to a massive 48TB of storage. The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad will act as the follow-on to the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 and is now available to purchase from authorised OWC resellers. Unfortunately, no information on pricing has been released as yet by OWC, but as soon as information comes to light, we will keep you updated as always.
