ALYT is a smart home manager that runs Google’s Android operating system and is completely open source allowing you to tailor it to your exact requirements.
ALYT has been designed to allow users to control home security systems as well as energy usage, entertainment systems as well as providing home automation via an Android powered smartphone or tablet device. Check out the video after the jump to learn more about this new and innovative smart home management system.
ALYT recently launched on the Indiegogo crowd funding website and is currently in the process of raising $100,000 to help it make the jump from concept to production. as I am writing this article the project has already generated $65,000 in pledges with still 30 days left to run on its project. Its creators explain a little more about the ALYT :
“Simply stated, it’s because ALYT is the first system of its kind that runs internally on the Android platform with completely open software. That means developers can create (and sell – but we’ll get to that shortly) new apps that can be directly downloaded into ALYT in a matter of seconds.
We didn’t want ALYT to be “just another app.” Instead, we’ve developed a sophisticated device that gives you complete control over your home. This includes the ability to manage home security, energy and other smart home features all from your Android OR iOS devices. It also features a backup battery so that in case of emergency power outages, your home will be unaffected.”
ALYT is also the first to offer a wide range of communication protocols and connectivity options supporting : Bluetooth, 3.5G Cellular, IR, NFC, DLNA, WiFi, Z-Wave and ZigBee.
The ALYT project is currently over on the Indiegogo crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. So if you think ALYT is something you could benefit from, visit the Indiegogo website now to make a pledge and help ALYT become a reality.
