Engineers and designers might be interested to know that the new Onshape CAD software which has currently been under beta testing has now progressed to a final release and includes the Materialise and Pinshape applications.
The Onshape CAD software has been designed to provide users with the first and only full-cloud 3D CAD system that enables an entire design team to simultaneously work together using a web browser, smartphone or tablet.
The Onshape CAD software has been tested by over 10,000 users clocking up over 400,000 hours, while creating 4,000,000 modelling features as well as importing and exporting over 390,000 CAD files.

3DPI website explains :
Using Onshape Beta, users were able to do full CAD editing and version control on mobile phones and tablets. One in six Onshape sessions were on mobile devices, and over 50% of Onshape Professional users use mobile. During beta, Onshape achieved over 99.9% uptime and Onshape users experienced virtually zero crashes and lost work. In fact, its full-cloud architecture seems to have virtually eliminated the concept of CAD crashes and lost work.
Onshape CEO John McEleney explains :
We are ready for prime time, we’re production ready. It’s been a year of not only amazing development momentum, but customer momentum as well. I’d like to thank our production-level customers across many industries who helped bring us to this point. You’re helping us build Onshape every day.
Although we have much hard work ahead of us, I am extremely excited about how our customers continue to react to the improvements we make to Onshape every few weeks – he added – we’ve built a world-class team and a product. Now it’s time to build a business.
