Makers, developers and hobbyists looking for a powerful multifunctional development board may be interested in a new piece of hardware which has been launched by Kickstarter this week and takes the form of the OmegaMix.
The development team behind OmegaMix are hoping to raise €100,000 over the next 29 days to help take their new hardware into mass production. We kickstarted this innovative project to reduce everything you need into one – only one – device. The size is small but the use is BIG! Inside the device you have a speaker and Bluetooth microphone, an Android TVBOX of the last generation – removable – and one slot for traditional hard drives with 2.5″ storage. As an Operating System we chose RemixOS, that turns the OmegaMix into game station, and a mini pc for a work, or a beautiful TVBOX with amazing design. One small size to meet all your needs!
The SlotCore is the heart of OmegaMix. There you find Where the main Component (Main-board, CPU, GPU, RAM …). SlotCore is removable to allow for future updates. You can think of SlotCore as a “TV-box” – that is ready for new upgrades, stores your files safely on its hard drive and lends itself to be compared to top of the line models. (Instead of : So in the future be could Launch the best performing models and make it Easy to upgrade and your file will safe inside of hard drive.)
Your current TVBOX has a problem, right? Storage space! We have created a device where you can save everything you want: Your movies in HD format; all your photos, music and all your apps. The solution is very simple: We incorporated a slot for 2.5 ” Sata drive just below the SlotCore, which works like a simple pen drive. This way you can increase the space of OmegaMix with minimum expense – or even use your old laptop disc.
