Back in July, Nokia announced Lumia 625, which is the largest Windows Phone 8 device that is currently available in the market (disregard Nokia Lumia 1520 as it’s not official yet). If you’re based in Canada, you’d be happy to know that it’s heading to TELUS this month with a $300 price tag.
Availability and Pricing
According to MobileSyrup, TELUS will start offering Lumia 625 starting October 3rd with $300 outright. If you are looking for a contractual relationship, you can get the device for free with a two-year contract with TELUS. However, the handset will only be available in black color. This pricing strategy makes the Lumia 625 an attractive option for those who want a capable smartphone without breaking the bank. The inclusion of a two-year contract option also provides flexibility for users who prefer to spread out the cost of the device over time.
Specifications and Features
The handset comes with mid-range specifications and boasts a massive 4.7-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480. This large screen size is ideal for users who enjoy consuming media on their phones, such as watching videos or browsing the web. Nokia Lumia 625 is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks. The device also includes 512MB RAM, which is sufficient for running most apps available on the Windows Phone Store.
In terms of storage, the Lumia 625 offers 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. This is particularly useful for users who need extra space for photos, videos, and apps. The 5MP back snapper is capable of capturing decent photos and videos, making it a good choice for casual photographers. The device is equipped with a 2,000 mAh battery, which should provide enough power to get through a full day of moderate use. Additionally, the Lumia 625 runs Windows Phone 8 out of the box, offering a user-friendly interface and access to a variety of apps and services.
One of the standout features of the Lumia 625 is its build quality. Nokia has a reputation for producing durable and well-constructed devices, and the Lumia 625 is no exception. The phone’s design is both stylish and functional, with a comfortable grip and a sleek appearance. The black color option available through TELUS adds a touch of elegance to the device.
Nokia is also expected to unveil Lumia 1520 phablet alongside Lumia 2520 tablet and four other devices on October 22nd at a press event in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This upcoming event is highly anticipated, as it will showcase Nokia’s latest innovations and additions to their product lineup. The Lumia 1520, in particular, is expected to be a significant release, offering advanced features and a larger screen size compared to the Lumia 625.
